Friends of the Library | Richardson
The Friends of the Richardson Public Library, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, is a service organization dedicated to the mission of helping the Richardson Public Library and its staff be a critical educational and cultural resource for the City and its broader service area.
We accomplish our mission both through direct gifts to the Library and through service-focused activities. Recent gifts include benches in the lobby, an early literacy workstation, a $2,000/year scholarship for a teen volunteer off to college, art in and around the facility; services include as sending librarians to book fairs, buying the library staff lunch during their in-service training, and covering the costs of the Library’s volunteers at Santa’s Village.
We participate in several fund-generating activities each year (book sales, Wildflower, matching funds campaigns, Trash Bash). As a non-profit with a current reserve of more than $80,000, we are always looking for volunteers and board members who support the goals of the Library and can bring their professional skills and enthusiasm to join our organization, particularly in the fields of fundraising and executing service-oriented projects.
