Message from the LRAA President

Welcome to Fall Y’all!

Seems that the hottest part of the year may finally be behind us. This also means that we are entering the busiest time of year with the usual ‘to do’ lists paired with the holidays and end of year activities. It is always an exciting time of the year!

One thing I cannot wait for is the New Class Reception. Happening Tuesday, October 25, this is sure to be an amazing event. What I have seen and heard about Class 38 is just outstanding. This group is already engaged and ready to enhance their leadership skills so they can provide more to our community.

Our auction will be happening at the same time as the New Class reception to raise money for the Leadership Richardson Scholarship fund. LRAA is happy to contribute funds so that those that would benefit from LR are not turned away due to a financial issue. As alumni whatever you contribute through the auction goes to this fund. Allow me to encourage your heart to give even a little this year as we continue to inspire others by actions learned through LR.

We are already hard at work to inspire your giving by the way. Pampillonia is graciously donating a lovely piece of jewelry again this year for our raffle. Plus Class 37 is donating a 55” smart TV! Many more fun and surprising items and experiences will be available. If you have an item or idea for an auction or raffle prize, please contact our Fundraising Chair Lisa Kupfer at LisaKupfer@gmail.com.

This time of year, also has multiple volunteer opportunities with various groups around the Richardson area. Our Outreach Director, Veena Puppala, continues to do an amazing job of putting together options and activities from local organizations. Please take a moment to consider giving your time to one of the groups looking for assistance.

As a board we look forward to seeing you at the end of October at the Richardson Woman’s Club as we introduce the New Class. Until then continue making Richardson one of the greatest places to be.
